🐟 RED SPOTTED SEVERUM 🌎 Origin: South America — mainly Amazon & Orinoco river basins 📏 Adult Size: 7–8 inches (18–20 cm) 🏠 Tank Size: 3ft and above 🌡️ Temperature: 24–28°C 💧 pH: 6.0–7.5 ⚡ Temperament: Generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially when breeding ⏳ Lifespan: 8–10+ years with proper care 🍤 Feeding: High-quality cichlid pellets, prawns/shrimp, bloodworms and other frozen foods; supplement with spirulina/vegetable-based foods 🐠 Tank Mates: Similar-sized peaceful/semi-aggressive fish such as Geophagus, larger tetras, Silver Dollars and peaceful catfish. Avoid very small fish and highly aggressive cichlids. 🪨 Tank Setup & Care: Spacious tank with strong filtration and good oxygenation. Use driftwood, rocks and hardy plants; provide open swimming space. Severums are messy eaters, so excellent filtration and regular water changes are essential. Avoid overcrowding and give each fish enough territory.
