🐟 RED HEAD TOPAZO 🌎 Origin: South America — primarily Brazil; aquarium strain of Geophagus sp. “Red Head Tapajós” from the Tapajós River region 📏 Adult Size: 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) 🏠 Tank Size: 3-4ft aquarium are preferable for healthy growth 🌡️ Temperature: 26–30°C 💧 pH: 6.0–7.5 ⚡ Temperament: Peaceful to mildly territorial, especially while breeding; best kept in groups ⏳ Lifespan: Around 8–10+ years with proper care 🍤 Feeding: Quality cichlid pellets, sinking granules, frozen/live bloodworms, brine shrimp and occasional shrimp-based foods. Feed 1–2 times daily in controlled portions. 🐠 Tank Mates: Peaceful medium-sized South American cichlids, Discus ,Angel,larger tetras, peaceful catfish, plecos and other compatible Geophagus species. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping fish. 🪨 Tank Setup & Care: Use fine sand as the main substrate because they constantly sift through it. Add driftwood, smooth rocks and open swimming areas. Provide strong biological filtration and regular water changes. Avoid sharp gravel and unstable decorations. 💙 AAF Tips: Keep them in a group of 5–6+ when possible. Excellent water quality, stable parameters and a sand substrate are key to bringing out their spectacular red/orange head coloration.
